Left car mirror of new car falls off   no comments

Many car owners sell their car which is more than 5 years old, to purchase a new car because older cars require more maintenance which is fairly expensive. However new cars are not very well designed, and parts of a car can fall off quickly on impact. For example for a new car purchased in October 2016, the left hand car mirror fell off in January 2017, within 3 months of purchase and use of the car. It appears that a pedestrian hand had touched the car, while it was moving and the car mirror fell on the road indicating that it was not designed properly.
The car mirror was mounted on a black holder and the entire unit broke off from the car body. If screws or fasteners were used for fixing the car mirror, it could have been fixed again fairly easily, however it a moulded part which has broken off, making it difficult to fix it again. Fortunately for the car owner, only the left side, car mirror, which is not used regularly, broke off.
If the right side car mirror had fallen off, it would have created problems for the car driver, because the mirror is used for reversing and parking the car. It also highlights a major problem in goa, there are so many vehicles, especially cars, are parked on the footpath, that pedestrians are often forced to walk on the roads, causing accidents
